Day 002: Give Me That Mountain
That mountain, right over there. I want it.Why? I deserve it and I'm ready to keep it up. Reverend Mills pointed out some things in his sermon today that hit me so many times I can't even count them. The guy is a beast with preaching. "We complain about this and that, but if you settle for it there's no one to blame but yourself." I can't count the times where I've settled for less than what I deserved. I've settled for last place, one who doesn't deserve what others do, not the prettiest, not supposed to be the best, and it keeps going on and on. Why did I? I know my self-esteem was low, but I had no reason to settle so easily for what everyone else was telling me to settle for. Why was what I did so important to them? What did they get out of it? Were they so afraid of where I would get unless they tied me down somehow? This goes right into another thing he said: "If you view yourself as a grasshopper, you're flying at a low altitude." Planes were made to fly at 35,000 to 40,000 feet. Not 5,000 to 10,000. Low altitudes make you crash into something. High altitudes are where you need to be. "He asked for a mountain, so when he went home every night he had to climb a little." At Reverend Mills house, the first plate is given to you. Anything after that, you have to ask for more. Breathing is your first plate. After that: "...give me that mountain". You'd wonder why some pilots don't take the landing class. When God has taken me to the high altitudes and I'm doing what I need to do, I don't plan on landing. Sure there will be storms sent my way and I'll have to fly low, but right after the storm I have to go back up. I haven't been flying at 5,000 feet. I've been flying underground. Where the hell was that going to get me? Other quotes I loved: "Some people are still ordering off of the kids' menu." "Failure is not final. Delay is not denial." "Some people just speak fuss." |

Why hello there. Welcome. Come by and visit this blog whenever you'd like. Pick up a phrase or two or some ideas; whatever fancies you. I'm just the writer. Take something from my words, go, and do.
My real name is of no matter. For now, we'll stick with Kakurayami Reika. Ah, may age? I'll allow you to guess. :] I live in NYC, but my mind lies elsewhere. I'm a musician and I play electric & upright bass, piano, alto saxophone, guitar, drums, and harmonica all in that order. Order of ability to play of course. I love bass the most. ♥ Normal | Bold | chit chat.
